Ice Rocker Report

The Ice Rockers make history

On Sunday October 15, at the Brewster Ice Arena Party Rink, Hockey History was made as The Ice Rockers recorded their inaugural video for their song “The Sin Bin Blues”, during the 11:30-12:30 slot. They blew their tiny ass budget on uniforms, so they really had to hustle. Thank the Goodness for their drummers, Lincoln Morrison and Christopher Purr, who took turns behind camera and kit because they are both that talented.

We also had Brian Purr on ice so there was confidence in the rink. The jerseys looked fantastic. Once they were all set up, the band took shape and the cameras rolled. It only took 15 years to get here.

The plan to go into the rinks incognito began to recede as people started staring trying to figure out what was going on. What were the guitars and drums for? One Hockey Mom was overheard perfectly explaining to her son “They are The Ice Rockers. They are a band that plays music on skates.”

Lincoln and Coach Reid played Peewee hockey together. After graduating from Emerson College in Boston, he began a career in the entertainment industry as a lighting, camera and sound professional. This is believed to be his debut before the camera.

Christopher Purr attended the Fiorello LaGuardia School of Music & Art and Performing Arts and has been Directing plays at Mahopac High School for many years. He can play several instruments and he is a great singer, as you will all learn.
